Welcome Term 1 2025

PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME

I write to you to welcome you to the 2025 school year. I hope you and your families had a refreshing break. I have noted in discussions with the children that many were getting quite bored towards the end and were happy to return.

We have commenced with all students and they have seemed to have settled well, apart from the warm weather. Fortunately, all our classrooms are airconditioned. Over the summer break the Library was renovated and it is looking particularly well with very comfortable air conditioning and furnishings.

I would like to thank Julie Hawes for her work in managing this project. It is an excellent outcome.

New Staff
We would like to welcome a group of staff to the College and we do hope that their time with us is rewarding and fulfilling.

Daniel Perez Gonzalez - Maths
MJ Jansen van Rensburg - Maths
Simone Pocsidio - Maths
Aaliyah Koteka - PE Assistant
Megan Chesson - Intensive English Centre
Fr Jeffey - College Chaplain

And we also welcome back Kyle Ganapathy and Sabrina Rodrigues from leave.

I would like to congratulate Luke O’Neill and his wife Georgia on the arrival of their twin boys, Freddy and Ollie.

Jordan Davis and his wife Cate have welcomed Sophia Sunday to their family.

Also, we congratulate Ciaran Mullins and Ben Lewis on their marriages over the holidays.

Student Results
We were very pleased with the results that our Year 12 students achieved in their studies in 2024.

The following students attained an ATAR score in the 90’s:

Hadia Ashraff
Estella Gillam
Mischa Gwynne
Lucas Kelly
Dilaksan Ratneswaran
Lylah Weymouth
Lara Zein

A special mention to Dilaksan who achieved an ATAR score of over 98.

Congratulations also to the following students who achieved outstanding results (As and Bs) in Years 10 - 12 and were recognised with a WACE Certificate of Merit:

Hadia Ashraff
Jude Garbenis
Estella Gillam
Mischa Gwynne
Zyakah Hart-Berrick
Lucas Kelly
Lucas Linto
Dilaksan Ratneswaran
Siena Sanfilippo
Lylah Weymouth
Lara Zein

This is a testament to their hard work and the support of their teachers and families. Almost all of the students who applied for places at University, have been offered a place, with only two missing out.

In addition, 99 students achieved various Certificate II’s from TAFE and 9 students completed Certificate III’s whilst in Year 11 and 12.

I do congratulate the students on their fine results and wish them well for the future.

Mr Declan Tanham
Principal
