Year 12 Students
Our Year 12 students are completing their schooling, currently having sat their mock exams, and they are now preparing for their final ATAR exams. They have been an excellent group of young people and we wish them well for the future and we look forward to their Graduation Ceremony this coming Friday.
I was reading a recent edition of an educational journal called Education Matters, and there was an article suggesting that the three most important things for success in exams are:
• Sleep
• Exercise, and
• Taking responsibility for your studies.
These simple wisdoms apply to all of our students, not just Year 12’s.

Bragging Rights...
On 11 October, the ACC released the virtual competition results of all schools that participated in the different divisions as one competition - there were over 8 schools!
The ACC ranked every event using all the results of competitors from the different divisions and scored them accordingly.
The top two athletes in each event were named in the ACC All Stars team. The following students made the All Stars team for 2022 - which is the most students ever to represent Aranmore:

Palace Koia
Adam Summers
Aaron Hubert
Olivia Wolmarans also finished Runner-up U15 Champion girl for all U15 athletes according to the ranking of the events.
Palace Koia finished as U14 Champion girl.
This is an amazing achievement for these two girls
Congratulations to Mr Luke O'Neil and the PE staff for their hard work in getting the athletes ready and attending on the day. Aranmore has done the best in 2022!!

Year 9 Career Taster Program
This term, Year 9 students get an opportunity to participate in the Career Taster Program with TAFE.
As part of engagement week, students will attend a full-day workshop experiencing a range of different careers tailor-made and facilitated just for them.

Year 11 Chemistry - Rates of Reaction
Year 11 Chemistry students used the appearance of yellow sulfur to determine the rate of a reaction.
Year 9 Forensics - Modelling Restriction Enzymes
Analysing the whole genome of DNA found at a crime scene is not feasible so restriction enzymes are used to cut the DNA into segments to create a DNA fingerprint or DNA profile. Here Year 9 Forensics students are using scissors to model restriction enzymes.
Year 10 - Greenhouse Experiment
Climate change is a topic that everyone should know something about. Here year 10 students are simulating the effect of Carbon dioxide on the temperature of the Earth.

Certificate II Community Health and Wellbeing
Congratulations to the students pictured below who are now on the pathway to becoming everyday Heroes! Mackenzie, Monica, Siena, Giorgia and Maddi have been accepted into the Certificate II Community Health and Wellbeing course for 2023. This highly competitive course provides students with the foundation skills, knowledge and confidence to be able to work in a healthcare environment. The course is a pathway to additional qualifications while completing paid school-based traineeship and a Diploma in Enrolled Nursing post-school - to name a few benefits! Celebrate Mental Health Week @ Belmont Skate Park
We will have a range of different providers there on the day with different info stalls, we will have a dj, photo booth, sand art, animal farm, sausage sizzle, fairy floss popcorn, glitter tattoos and community art piece. EVERYTHING IS FREE.
The Y Case Management Service
We offer this service for young people across all three of our services for young people aged 12-25 who would like more one-to-one confidential support with a range of issues.

City of Vincent Young Makers Christmas Market 2022
The City of Vincent will once again be hosting its Young Makers Christmas Market on Sunday 13 November 2022!
The market will run from 8am-11am at the North Perth Town Hall and Multicultural Gardens.
The market aims to provide young people aged 12-25 with the opportunity to create and sell homemade goods to the City of Vincent community.
It is free to host a stall and applications are currently being accepted, closing Friday 21 October at 5pm.

Maritime Day
Maritime Day is a free family event with an array of marine-themed activities for visitors of all ages.
There will be a continuous stream of fun-filled action and 90 displays catering for a wide range of interests and providing information about the maritime industry and Fremantle Port.
This year’s event is a fantastic opportunity to view Fremantle Ports’ Howard Taylor artwork collection, including his flora and fauna mural. Taylor’s huge Movement of the Waters of the Ocean artwork, originally hung in the Fremantle Ports administration building has been restored and relocated to the Fremantle Passenger Terminal, available for viewing on Maritime Day.
Other entertainment includes free harbour boat rides and a kids’ zone with face-painting, a fancy dress competition, and a pirate show. Special guests will provide musical entertainment throughout the day, with numerous school choirs and ensembles participating in the event.
